Mikhael Tara Garver has been a leader in immersive and experiential storytelling for over two decades.  She is the leading Experiential Architect having built creative content across multiple platforms.  She creates large-scale, social impact, multi-platform, experiences that combine technology and live events.  She makes creative ecosystems for brands, agencies, and social impact. She has created some of the first original content experiential projects commissioned by national arts organizations. 

Her speaking and thought leadership around innovative Experiential Content, where digital and live content are in concert, has been a keynote at the Immersive Design Summit, Switchpoint, and the upcoming International Festival of Arts and Ideas.

Mikhael is the Founder and Executive Director of 13Exp, the first original content experiential studio with social impact in its DNA.  Mikhael and 13Exp are current grantees of Pop Culture Collaborative, a fund supporting Pop culture leaders embedding culture change in their work.  She was also one of six international artists awarded the International Sacatar Fellowship in Bahia, Brazil to complete her book on “How xExperiential Content Leads Change through Entertainment.”   

Garver is also the founder of MTGEXP, an experiential studio that creates innovative moving experiences for artists, brands, and social impact.

She has built award winning experiences for: AMC Television, The National Park Service, Bloomberg, Serino/Coyne, BBDO, Hormel, Tentrr, Smirnoff,  among others.  She is a leader in immersive content having done work for IDEO, Facebook, and Virgin.  Garver started her career making early experiential campaigns for Chicago Athletic Clubs - tripling its income and growth strategy over 3 years.  Mikhael Tara Garver created the advanced program in Making, Directing, and Leadership for Tisch/NYU. She has spoken and taught on Arts and Democracy at North Carolina School of the Arts, Yale, Columbia University, Harvard, DePaul, Montclair State, and other universities.

Mikhael was a director on Sleep No More at American Repertory Theater. She has worked nationally in our many of our major theaters: The Atlantic Theater, American Conservatory Theater, The Kitchen, Bard University, Grand Arts Center, The Public Theater, to name a few. was the former Managing Artistic Director of NY Immersive Leader Woodshed Collective (Kpop, Empire Travel Agency).  Mikhael was a part of the Artistic and Partnerships leadership for The Women’s March on Washington in January, 2017. Some of Garver’s game-changing original work: FORNICATED an experience that started with texting and led to  a rock club experience around a different band every night, an immersive concept album; THE EXPERIMENT commissioned by the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston; Stand for Revolutionary Love at BAM with Kristin Sudeikis Dance Company; and Mikhael was the Creative Director for GREAT CAESAR on their SXSW immersive tour.
